We go beyond the label: True quality and safety are hidden in the details that you can't see at first glance

When choosing dietary supplements, most of us start with reading the label. We look for key active ingredients, their amounts, and their form. Yet we often overlook other components that can significantly influence the overall quality of a product. What many people don’t realise is that some substances do not appear on the label at all, as they are considered a standard part of the manufacturing process.

What will you learn in this article?

  1. Safety without compromise: What you will never find in our products
  2. Instead of synthetic additives, we choose functional natural ingredients
  3. Instead of standard capsules, we guarantee ETO-free capsules
  4. Instead of synthetic flavours, we use organic essential citrus oils
  5. Instead of synthetic preservatives, we protect the product using nature
  6. We are not satisfied with permitted heavy-metal limits
  7. We go beyond legislation: we check even the “invisible” substances
  8. We actively choose raw materials with the highest quality and safety profile
  9. In conclusion

At Trime, we believe that what you won’t find in our products is just as important as what you will find in them.

Our philosophy is simple: to create supplements whose composition stays as close to nature as possible. In the supplement industry, there are not many companies with a similar approach. We understand that to achieve maximum nutritional potential and environmental responsibility, it is not enough to select premium ingredients. Equally essential is what we consciously avoid during production.

Safety without compromise: What you will never find in our products

Throughout production, we use the gentlest processing methods possible, and we do not use any synthetic—although legally permitted—additives that may be potentially harmful to health during long-term use.

1. Instead of synthetic additives, we choose functional natural ingredients

What we don’t use: Common synthetic fillers, binders, or anti-caking agents (such as magnesium stearate or silicon dioxide), which offer no benefit to the body and may be potentially problematic.

What we use instead: We take our “clean-label” philosophy even further. When we do need to use a supporting ingredient, we choose functional natural additives that often bring additional nutritional value. These include, for example:

  • Organic Acacia fibre (prebiotic)

  • Organic coconut MCT oil

  • Baobab fruit pulp

2. Instead of standard capsules, we guarantee ETO-free capsules

What we avoid: The risk of ethylene oxide (ETO) contamination. ETO is a carcinogenic pesticide that is unfortunately still used to sterilise capsules, food products, or herbal ingredients.

Learn more about the ETO issue in our article: What is ethylene oxide and why should we be cautious about it?

What we use instead: We carefully ensure that all our capsules are ETO-free. As we have encountered situations where ethylene oxide residue limits were frequently exceeded, we decided to conduct our own independent testing. This guarantees that the capsules used in our supplements are not contaminated with this harmful substance.

3. Instead of synthetic flavours, we use organic essential citrus oils

What we don’t use: Artificial or “nature-identical” flavours that merely mask taste and place unnecessary burden on the body.

What we use instead: The power of real nature. To flavour some of our liquid omega-3 products, we use organic essential citrus oils derived from ecologically grown citrus fruits without chemicals or synthetic solvents. This ensures maximum purity of the final product — free from unwanted chemical residues that may be present in citrus extracts.

4. Instead of synthetic preservatives, we protect our products using nature

What we don’t use: Synthetic preservatives (such as benzoates or sorbates), which may extend shelf life but can irritate the digestive tract or trigger allergic reactions.

What we use instead: Natural extracts with antioxidant capacity that protect the product from oxidation. For example, in sensitive omega-3 products we use natural rosemary extract, which acts as an effective antioxidant, protects polyunsaturated fatty acids from oxidation, and helps maintain the stability, flavour, and quality of the product.

5. We are not satisfied with legally permitted heavy-metal limits

What we avoid: Passive acceptance of the fact that raw materials may contain heavy metals “within the permitted limit.” Heavy metals are dangerous even in trace amounts because they accumulate in the body — gradually building up in tissues, where they can damage cells, disrupt organ function, and contribute to neurotoxicity.

What we do instead: Especially for mineral ingredients such as magnesium, we actively seek and require raw materials with heavy-metal content far below the legally permitted threshold. For this reason, we want to know the entire manufacturing flowchart when producing mineral supplements, allowing us to identify all potential contamination checkpoints. The mineral ingredients used in our supplements therefore meet — in terms of heavy-metal limits — the strict criteria of infant-nutrition standards.

We discuss heavy-metal contamination in mineral ingredients in more detail in this article: Magnesium and the presence of hazardous contaminants.

6. We go beyond legislation: we check even the “invisible” substances

What we avoid: Exploiting the legislative “grey zone.” The law differentiates between an “ingredient” (which must appear on the label) and a “processing aid” (used during raw-material manufacturing but not required to be listed on the final label).

What we do instead: We look at the entire production process of a raw material. The fact that a supplier may use a synthetic preservative or antioxidant (such as added ascorbic acid) during production — and legally does not have to declare it — is unacceptable to us. At Trime, we therefore actively screen suppliers for these “hidden” processing substances and work only with those whose production methods align with our quality philosophy and clean-label standards.

7. We actively choose raw materials with the highest quality and safety profile

What we avoid: Commonly available raw materials that carry hidden contamination risks, even if they are considered industry standard.

What we do instead: We rigorously select the best and purest raw materials on the market, with careful attention to their origin and processing method. For example, the standard form of vitamin D3 from lanolin (sheep’s wool) carries a risk of contamination with BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene), a synthetic antioxidant used during processing and classified as an animal carcinogen. Instead, we choose plant-based vitamin D3 from algae or lichen, guaranteeing maximum purity and quality.

You can read more about why we prioritise plant-based vitamin D3 here: Differences between plant-based vitamin D and vitamin D from animal sources.

In conclusion

We believe you have the right to know not only what you are consuming in your supplements, but also what you are intentionally not consuming. Our commitment to purity goes beyond marketing statements — it is the core of our identity and daily work, because health deserves no compromises.
